As early as the Exodus from Egypt, Jewish history records that the voices of woman contributed songs to the people. Why then did a tradition of silencing the singing of women begin?
Sam Klassik was born in Winnipeg and raised in Pennsylvania, but his music career began in Hamilton. Klassik, whose real name is Klass, studied at McMaster University between 2006 and 2010, and continued to be based in Hamilton until 2015.
One of Israel’s most beloved and popular singers will be performing in Hamilton at a Chanukah community concert organized by the Hamilton Jewish Federation. Miki Gavrielov will perform at Temple Anshe Sholom, 215 Cline Ave. N. on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 4 p.m.
