Dr. Loeb is a Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and Health Research Methods Evidence and Impact at McMaster University where he holds the Michael G DeGroote Chair in Infectious Diseases and is the Division Director for Infectious Diseases. Dr. Loeb has been conducting cluster randomized trials of vaccinating children against influenza in the Hutterite community for the past 15 years. He holds a CIHR Foundation grant to further investigate influenza in this community. He is the PI (Principal Investigator) of a UK MRC Global Health randomized trial assessing the effect of inactivated influenza on adverse vascular events. He has served on international, national, and provincial advisory and grant committees. He has published 326 peer reviewed articles. Recognitions have included the Gold Medal in Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for research, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Investigator Award, and the Jonas Salk award from the March of Dimes. Dr. Loeb is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences
