In celebration of Earth Day, The Consulate General of Israel in Toronto and Western Canada has launched a one week screening of the documentary-film “Picture of His Life” by Israeli filmmaker Yonatan Nir. This film is available to watch across Canada from April 22-29. The screening week will end with a moderated Q&A webinar with Yonatan Nir on April 29 at 7:30PM EDT.
“Picture of His Life” follows the journey of world-renowned underwater wildlife photographer Amos Nachoum in his pursuit to swim underwater with a polar bear to capture it face-to-face on film. Nachoum is the only wildlife photographer in the world to attempt and succeed at this shoot.
The film connects us to the beautiful and unique landscape of the Canadian Arctic and also reminds viewers of the changes and disruptions these polar bears experience in their ecosystems due to climate change, and stresses the importance of conservation.
