Like living in London during the Blitz

I have been self isolated now for seven weeks but fortunately my late husband, Morley Balinson, has left me with an extensive library of books on a variety of topics. In particular, I have been reading several records of Canadian soldiers during the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War in which he served.  Reading about our courageous soldiers helps put our present challenges of isolation and fear in perspective.  I liken our circumstances to the families who lived during the blitz in London, England where people had no choice but to gather together in bomb shelters, fear contamination, endure rationing and suffer the loss of friends and family.
